Giving Back to Those Who Need It Most - Star of Hope

Young Adult Singles Life Group Canned Food Drive Project!

So far this year, we've seen the launch of two new ministries, and one of them is our Young Adult Singles Life Group. Through fellowship and meetings, they've worked to plan some awesome activities for their group. Their first project is a Canned Food Drive to support to ministry of Star of Hope - Houston.

Star of Hope Mission

Star of Hope is a Christ-centered community dedicated to meeting the needs of homeless men, women and their children.

Star of Hope, & Its Impact on the Greater Houston Area

Star of Hope began its mission to helping the city of Houston, Texas in 1907. Since then, they've grown to be one of the largest food centers dedicated to serving those who are plagued a common problem currently facing millions around our country - food insecurity. Bro. Derek, and the members of the Young Adult Singles Life Group began their first meeting last month discussing various opportunities of impact in our church, community, and surrounding areas. After Research, Bro. Derek stumbled across this amazing source of light doing the work of Christ - Star of Hope located in Houston, Texas.

Star of Hope has grown since its conception on that warm July day in 1907. Today, Star of Hope’s Cornerstone Community® transformational campus, houses up to 160 homeless, single women and 130 homeless families where they progress towards independent living through basic recovery services and long-term programs. In addition, mental, physical and spiritual health services are offered with on-site permanent supportive housing and convenient public transportation, all in a walkable campus environment.

By partnering with this ministry, our church helps them in its efforts to uplift our suffering neighbors, providing them with help and HOPE and freedom from the grip of despair.

Here's How You Can Help Our Young Adults

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave something to drink, I was stranger and you invited me in." - Deuteronomy 15:7, NIV

Like aforementioned, our Young Adult Singles are on the move collecting donations for their Canned Food Drive Project. You can support them in their efforts by dropping off can goods at the turn-in bin, located in the foyer of our church. The last day to donate is February 15 after bible study. They will travel to Star of Hope for a day of outreach on February 19 after morning worship. There, they will help feed the men, women, and children who are blessed by the awesome ministry of Star of hope.
